My Practice

Shayne’s Vinyasa practice focuses on moving energy through the body. It is a form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while synchronizing their breath to their movements. It is a dynamic flow yet a sacred and devotional practice, a moving meditation with attention to breath, alignment, visualization, intention and chanting, creating an inner journey towards empowerment, faith and intuition.

Classes begin with chanting and breath work  to prepare the mind for a deeper state of consciousness. Followed by a gracious flow to her very acclaimed playlists. Expect to sweat, get strong, challenge your breath and play around with exciting inversions and arm balancing poses.

Our vision is a world where education enables youth to dream, see and build the impossible. Founded in 2018, TNF actively seeks opportunities to invest in education, school leaders, community-driven innovation, and systems change.

“My foundation alone cannot hold itself responsible for transforming an entire system, but we can contribute to changing the entire system,” says Trevor Noah. “We’re trying to support every community to create an environment where everyone – governments, the private sector, philanthropists, community leaders and members – is putting resources into refurbishing a school, running the school, training teachers, etc. We want to harness that communal contribution to create systems change.”

Shalane has over 10+ years of global consulting, research, and systems change experience. She is deeply committed to enabling fair and just access to economic opportunities and is passionate about driving innovative cross-sector partnerships to catalyze change. Shalane holds a Master of Public Administration in international non-profit management and public policy from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from the University of California. Originally from Hawaii, South Africa has been her home for the last ten years, which she now shares with her husband and daughter.

Rupa Balasubramanian, Senior Vice President at the Pop Culture Collaborative, focuses her work on building pluralist leadership. Rupa has spent twenty years working at the intersection of philanthropy, policy advocacy and social movements. She began her career in politics and crisis management, working in the Press Secretary’s office at the White House during the Clinton Administration and then, at Hill & Knowlton, Inc., a leading international communications firm. Recognizing that in order to change systems, private funding must invest in political leadership, policy advocacy, and movement infrastructure, Rupa joined a philanthropic and political consulting firm founded by progressive activist and strategist, Margery Tabankin. At Margery Tabankin & Associates, Rupa spent a decade developing and launching innovative strategies for social change for individuals, families and organizations looking to deploy resources to address structural inequality.

In the summer of 2013, Rupa helped launch Fundamental, a boutique philanthropic consultancy, where she helped individuals in the creative and entertainment community deploy millions of dollars to support organizations focused on education, women’s health, the environment, civic engagement, and civil rights at the local, state, and national levels.

Rupa graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned her Masters degree in Public Administration at the University of Southern California’s School of Policy, Planning and Development. She serves on the board of directors of Vote.org, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, and Demos, a think tank of the progressive movement.
