Food justice
As most kids head back to school, the reality is that millions of children and their families around the world don’t have reliable access to the nutritious food they need to survive and thrive.
Food is the foundation of so many of our social and cultural systems. When people don’t have access to nourishing food, various aspects of life become more challenging.
That’s why this month, we are proud to partner with Newmans Own Foundation to award TWO organizations $25,000 each to fuel this essential work, with at least one of these awards going to an organization that supports school-aged children in the United States.
To nominate, head to Instagram and tag a nonprofit in the comments of the post. We’re looking for organizations In the US and around the world working to strengthen sustainable food systems or expand nutrition education for their community, whether through school meals, growing and cooking food, urban farming, Indigenous food sovereignty, or any effort to make food justice a reality.

How can you nominate an organization?
To nominate an organization, simply tag the organization below the “Nominations Open” post on the @elevateprize Instagram.
How are winners chosen?
The Elevate Prize team vets and reviews all nominated organizations based on their alignment with our decision-making criteria. This criteria includes how the organization aligns to the theme, their mission and programming, leadership, and impact potential.
How are monthly topics chosen?
Topics are chosen by the Elevate team, who take into account suggestions from our community, the time of year, current events, and trends we are seeing in the nonprofit field.
Who can nominate?
ANYONE can make a nomination for the Elevate Prize GET LOUD Award unless you work for The Elevate Prize Foundation (we think that would be a little too insider-y). Nominate an organization whose work you believe in, or nominate your OWN organization!
Who can be awarded the Elevate Prize GET LOUD Award?
This award is designed to uplift community-based organizations from anywhere in the world that have an annual revenue under 1 million dollars and are a certified 501c3 or public charity.

Does it help if my organization is nominated more than once?
Organizations can be nominated infinite times, but that won’t impact the selection process. We review everyone organization nominated, equally.
