Suzanne Kianpour is a correspondent and presenter based between Washington DC, London and Dubai. She is the creator and host of BBC’s “Women Building Peace” series in collaboration with the Georgetown Institute of Women Peace and Security, and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for New American Security, where she serves as lead author on a forthcoming CNAS commentary series, called "Women, Power & Security."
Kianpour is the presenter of BBC’s ‘Out of the Shadows’ and ‘America’s Place in the World.’ Her reporting and anchoring can be found across BBC’s TV, radio, and digital platforms on BBC World News, BBC World Service and online.
The Emmy nominated political and foreign affairs journalist began her career at NBC News before moving on to BBC, shuttling between Washington and warzones, from helmet to heels. She has been listed as one of DC’s most influential leaders under 40 for several years in a row and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Meridian International Center’s Rising Leaders Council, and sits on the board of the Friends of the American University in Afghanistan.
Kianpour is a graduate of Emory University, where she studied abroad at University of Oxford and attended Georgetown University post-grad.
