Sanjiv Mirchandani retired in June 2021 from a 27-year career at Fidelity Investments. Mr. Mirchandani has a proven track record of leading, growing and turning around business units in the wealth and asset management space. Sanjiv has overseen initiatives for both B2B and B2C businesses and products. His major roles include being President of the Fidelity Clearing and Custody business unit which grew from $1.5T in assets to $3.3T in assets under his tenure while robustly growing revenues and expanding margins. He was also President of Fidelity’s National Financial business which went through a turnaround and transformation during his tenure from the depths of the financial crisis in 2009 to new heights of growth and profitability. Most recently he created and built the first ever Client Relationship Group responsible for revenues and client relationships in Fidelity Institutional. This included the Clearing, Custody and Asset Management lines of business for Financial Institutions and Advisors.
In prior roles at Fidelity Sanjiv was President of Products and Marketing for Fidelity’s Personal Investments business. During his tenure he drove remarkable growth in the online brokerage business, Portfolio Advisory Services and Retirement and Rollovers and also created several innovative new products and branding campaigns.
During his tenure at Fidelity Sanjiv was known for his customer obsession, thought leadership innovative spirit, commercial and results orientation and a passion for excellence.
Prior to his Fidelity career, Mr. Mirchandani spent six years at Product Management at the American Express Company focused on the Consumer Card and Lending businesses. Prior to that he spent nearly four years at Citibank in roles in Consumer Banking and Credit.
Mr. Mirchandani received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Bombay in India in 1982 and an MBA from Cornell University in 1984.
In his retirement Sanjiv intends to spend his time traveling the world, indulging his hobby playing music, giving back to society by working with non-profits, and feeding his insatiable appetite for lifelong learning especially in science, technology and medical research.
